Freshwater Fishing

Coho salmon are present in most drainages of Prince of Wales including the Thorne, Klawock, Staney and Harris. The majority of coho are blush and have commenced spawning in some drainages. The coho fishing in the Klawock River drainage remains good but is past the peak and will continue to decline.  Rainbow and cutthroat trout fishing is currently good. The following lakes and associated stream drainages should offer good trout and Dolly Varden fishing; Control, Klawock, Luck, and Red Bay Lakes as well as the Thorne River drainage. Steelhead should begin showing in lake associated drainages, such as the Klawock, Thorne and Karta, by mid to late November.

Saltwater Fishing

Feeder king salmon will be present around the island through the winter. Halibut, rockfish and lingcod fishing will remain an option except during the lingcod and halibut season closures noted below.

***Reminder***
