Saltwater Fishing

King salmon fishing has been very good in outside and fair for inside waters around Prince of Wales. Fishing for king salmon should remain good through June. Halibut, lingcod and rockfish are available and fishing is good.

Freshwater Fishing

Sockeye salmon have started entering freshwater sytems of Prince of Wales during June. Systems with sockeye salmon include Hatchery Creek, Eagle and Ratz creeks, Thorne, Sarkar and Karta Rivers. Summer run coho at Neck Creek are starting to show and numbers should increase for the remainder of the summer. Trout fishing can be very good during June. The following drainages should offer good trout and Dolly Varden fishing; Control, Klawock, Luck, and Red lakes as well as the Thorne River drainage.
